As a parent, I've found that involving my little one in meal prep makes it fun š and instils healthy eating habits š„¦š. This was beautifully illustrated in our latest kitchen adventure, where we prepared a bento box for my daughter's school lunch. The star of the show? Her absolute favourite ā Alphabet Fryums! šš š
The bento box, a concept I adore for its portion control and variety, was a canvas for our culinary creativity šØš“. We started with 'Kheera Koshimbir,' a delightful mixture of cucumber š„, curd, and peanuts š„, seasoned perfectly with rai and curry leaves kadhipatta. This dish is a refreshing blend of textures and flavours ā the coolness of cucumber, the creaminess of curd, and the crunch of peanuts all coming together in a harmonious symphony šµš„.
Next, we moved on to 'Triangle Parathas.' These are not just regular parathas; they're shaped into triangles, making them more appealing and fun for my little one šš. It's amazing how a simple change in shape can make the usual roti so exciting for kids š.
Then came the 'Crispy Bhindi' - crispy, rightly spiced, and absolutely delicious š¶ļøš². It's a great way to include vegetables in her diet; the crunchiness always wins her over š„¬š.
But the highlight, the piĆØce de rĆ©sistance of the meal, was the 'ABCD Fryums' šš. Ever since I introduced these alphabet-shaped snacks to her, she has been in awe š. The excitement was palpable as she repeated, "Mommy, don't forget the ABCD Fryums for my tiffin!" šš£ļø. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and it reminded me of the simple joys of childhood šš¶.
Involving her in the decision to include the fryums was intentional š¤š½ļø. Allowing children to choose one element of their meal significantly boosts their excitement for mealtime š„³. It gives them a sense of control and a connection to what they're eating šš§š½.
As I packed the bento box, I could see the joy in her eyes šā¤ļø. It wasn't just about the food but the love and thought put into each compartment of that box šš¦. It was a reminder that sometimes, the smallest things, like alphabet-shaped fryums, bring the greatest joy to our little ones šš¼.
In conclusion, this bento box wasn't just a meal; it was an expression of love and a bridge to teaching my daughter about the joy of eating and the importance of healthy, balanced meals šš½ļøš„. It's these little moments that make parenthood so incredibly special šØāš©āš§š«.
